AN INVITATION

On behalf of the Organising Committee of the International Society of Prenatal and Perinatal Psychology and Medicine, we would like to extend to you an invitation to participate in our 14th International Conference to be held at the Swiss Grand Hotel Bondi.

The theme for the conference is “Bridging The Gap” and the committee has developed a most interesting, engaging and stimulating program, spearheading perinatal research practice.

We would like to invite peers to share their knowledge and experience. The Scientific Committee has drawn on both international and local expertise to provide eminent keynote speakers.


CONFERENCE INFORMATION

The conference will be held at the Swiss Grand Hotel Bondi, overlooking Australia’s most famous stretch of sand and surf, and is located 15 minutes from the heart of Sydney.

The Swiss Grand Hotel offers 203 full size suites, each with a bedroom, separate lounge and bathroom. Not to mention a private balcony with sweeping views of either the beach or cosmopolitan Bondi. Special reduced rate accommodation will be available for conference attendees.

Conference Registration includes: morning and afternoon tea, lunch, conference satchel and Abstract Booklet. Social functions are NOT included in the registration fee.

A cancellation fee of AU$ 30.00 will apply after 8th October 2001.

BONDI BEACH

Bondi Beach is one of Australia’s most famous beaches and among the world’s most well-known. Visit the website at http://www.bondiworld.com/. It is located in the Municipality of Waverley in east Sydney. The beach, roughly a kilometre long, is enclosed at the north and south by headlands. Every day of the year lifeguards patrol the beach between the yellow and red flags. Take a stroll along the beachside promenade, or away from the beach there are numerous cafes and restaurants, as well as hostels, hotels, a great variety of shops, and even a small golf course.

In November the daily maximum temperature averages 27 degrees, with the daily minimum averaging 15 degrees. Humidity averages 70%.

SOCIAL PROGRAM

A Welcome Reception Cocktail Party will be held at the Swiss Grand Hotel, on the Thursday evening, commencing at 7.00 pm. Price included in the registration fee for delegates.

The Conference Dinner is being held at The Swiss Grand Hotel on Saturday 3rd November, commencing at 7.00 pm. Price is AU$ 85.00 per person including drinks.


CONFERENCE ATTENDANCE/CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS

Cancellations must be notified in writing to the Secretariat. Those received more than four weeks prior to the Conference will receive a full refund less a AUAU$ 30 administration fee. Those received between two and four weeks prior to the Conference will obtain a 75% refund. Those received less than two weeks prior to the Conference will not be eligible for a refund.

Late abstracts will NOT be accepted

Abstracts are invited from any area relevant to the aims of the ISPPM. Abstracts relating to the following major themes of the Conference are particularly welcomed.

If you wish your abstract to be considered for one of these sessions please indicate on the submission form.

Oral presentations will be of 15 minutes duration plus 5 minutes question time. Computer projection facilities will be available at all sessions. Although slide projection and overhead projection facilities will be available for all sessions, presenters are encouraged to use computer projection.
